Every year, Apna Skool commemorates Independence Day with heartfelt enthusiasm and patriotic
spirit—and this year was no exception. Marking the 80th anniversary of India’s freedom, our teaching
centres across Kanpur and Bihar came alive with vibrant celebrations. Students and teachers organized
spirited processions around the centres and nearby brick kilns, followed by the ceremonial hoisting of
the national flag. The day was filled with cultural performances where children showcased their talents
through singing, dancing, storytelling, and more.
In addition to the festivities, students were educated about India’s freedom struggle, the rights of
labourers, and the inspiring lives of great freedom fighters. To sweeten the occasion, traditional treats
like jalebis and fruit-based sweets were distributed to all the children, adding joy to a day of pride and
remembrance.
