Online classes

Apna Skool teachers, Kanpur have been taking online classes for all the students studying in 8 residential schools of Bihar to support them in the studies. Subjects of Bihar Board such as English, Social, Science, Maths and Hindi are being taught to the students of classes 6 to 10. Around 325 students will be attending classes regularly, they are very keen to learn and the response is also very good according to the teachers.




Teachers Training Workshop (15 and 16 July)

 During this workshop, we discussed ways to work more effectively with children who have never been to school or are at risk of dropping out, or who work at various brick kilns. During the training session, the coordinator of Apna Skool along with experienced teachers from Apna Skool discussed with the teachers from LIFI (Learning Initiatives for India) on teaching methodology, teaching techniques, curriculum, lesson plans and how to teach children of migrant workers through games, game-based learning and activities.

Professor Adhip Agarwal from the Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur and his student distributed foldscopes (microscopes) to everyone and taught how to use them. They taught all the teachers how to connect children with science through practical activities. The training was attended by 15 teachers and coordinators of Apna Skool and 13 members from Learning Initiatives for India.




Apna Skool magazine (Phuljhadiyan)

Greetings from Apna Skool. The children of Apna Skool have published their magazine (Phuljhadiyan). All the children of Apna Skool express their views through poems, stories, and drawings.
